Join us in honoring Dr. Jim Curran as the Villa International 2023 Global Community Service Award Recipient

On Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. Villa International will host its 19th annual Viva Villa wine and cheese reception. We are pleased to recognize Dr. Jim Curran, Dean Emeritus and Professor of Epidemiology and Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University with the 2023 Global Community Service Award. Dr. Curran joined the Rollins School of Public Health as Dean and Professor of Epidemiology in 1995 following twenty-five years of leadership at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He served as co-director of the Emory Center for AIDS Research and holds faculty appointments in the Emory School of Medicine and the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. The event will be held in the Lawrence P. and Ann Estes Klamon Room on the 8th floor of the Claudia Nance Rollins Building--8th floor at 1518 Clifton Rd on the Emory Campus. Funds raised will support a major room renovation at Villa International. Our 33-bedroom facility is in dire need of an upgrade to improve the guest experience for the international scientists and researchers training and working at CDC and Emory. Villa International is a 33-room residence founded in 1967 as a “home away from home” for international guests in Atlanta. Villa offers short-term housing for those looking for a friendly and affordable place to stay. Since our doors opened in 1972, we have hosted over 27,000 residents from 179 countries.
